LOOK: Soccsksargen cops hold ‘Way of the Cross’ procession
MANILA, Philippines — In observance of Good Friday, Soccsksargen police officers led by their regional director Brig. Gen Eliseo Tam Rasco held the “Way of the Cross” procession.
The police fielded 14 stations in the procession, which covered the area of General Santos International Airport up to the regional police’s St. Michael Chapel.
“This endeavour is aligned with the PNP (Philippine National Police) core value — ‘makadiyos’ in support with the PNP’s spiritual upliftment program which aims to boost the morale of the PNP personnel in their approach to law enforcement,” the Soccsksargen police said in a statement.
On Black Saturday, police officers will also attend a mass at St. Michael Chapel, and at Sacred Heart of Jesus Chapel at General Santos City Police Office to commemorate the entire day when Jesus Christ’s body remained on a tomb after his death.
A “Salubong sa Kampo Lira” will also be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Chapel on morning of Easter Sunday, to be followed by a mass at St. Michael Chapel.
