MANILA, Philippines — A block of suspected cocaine with an estimated value of P5.3 million was discovered floating by a fisherman in the waters of Surigao del Norte on Wednesday afternoon, police said.
The Caraga police reported Thursday the fisherman found the block of suspected illegal drugs at about 40 nautical miles off the municipality of Sta. Monica.
According to police, the block of suspected cocaine weighs around a kilogram.
The recovered contraband is now under the custody of the Sta. Monica Municipal Police Station and will undergo laboratory testing to confirm if it is indeed cocaine, authorities said. /kga
