MPD releases rerouting scheme for Good Friday Quiapo procession

MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Police District (MPD), through its traffic enforcement unit will implement a rerouting scheme in the vicinity of the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene (Quiapo Church) to make way for the Good Friday procession.


In an advisory on Wednesday, the MPD said the following roads will be affected by the church’s activities:

Road closure:


  • Southbound lane of Quezon Boulevard (Quiapo), from A. Mendoza/Fugoso to Plaza Miranda and España/P. Campa/Lerma will be closed to traffic to all types of vehicles

Rerouting of vehicles:

  • All vehicles bound for Quezon Boulevard coming from A. Mendoza may turn right at Fugoso St., left at Rizal Avenue to point of destination
  • All vehicles coming from España going to Quezon Boulevard may turn left at Nicanor Reyes St. then turn right or left at C.M Recto Avenue to point of destination. /gsg
