MANILA, Philippines — Three blocks of cocaine were found by a fisherman as it floated near the Naidi Light House off Basco, Batanes on Tuesday night.
Police said fisherman Roger Gallo Gabotero surrendered the blocks of suspected cocaine to the Basco Police Station.
Police said the cocaine blocks, which weighed a kilogram in total, were wrapped in white plastic, then in a green foil packaging marked with the “Guanyinwang” brand of refined Chinese tea and then again in a vacuum-sealed plastic with letter A red markings.
The Basco Police Station said it will deliver the recovered cocaine block to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 2 for laboratory examination.
The street value of the cocaine blocks was placed by the PNP at P5.7 million. /muf
