Number of passengers in PH's seaports reach 24K on early Holy Wednesday

MANILA, Philippines — On the early hours of Holy Wednesday, more than 24,000 passengers have already made their way to various seaports across the country, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said.

The PCG’s tally showed that a total of 24,664 passengers were monitored at the seaports from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday.

This was lower than the number of passengers recorded on the same period on Tuesday, which reached 31,810.

The bulk of passengers were recorded at Southern Tagalog provinces, such as Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Southern Quezon, Occidental Mindoro and Romblon, with 10,696 passengers recorded.

A total of 2,777 passengers were recorded at Central Visayas, while Western Visayas monitored 2,568 passengers, the PCG said.
