MANILA, Philippines — Fifty-three public transport workers tested positive for illegal drugs in the simultaneous surprise drug tests conducted on Monday by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at 89 transport terminals nationwide.

Under the PDEA’s “Oplan Huli Week,” 35 bus drivers, 17 bus conductors and one dispatcher out of 7,729 transport workers who underwent the mandatory drug test showed traces of “shabu” (crystal meth) in their urine, the agency said.
