10-wheeler truck falls on its side along NLEX in QC

MANILA, Philippines — A 10-wheeler dump truck fell on its side and snarled traffic along the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Quezon City on Thursday morning, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.

An MMDA traffic operator told INQUIRER.net that the truck had just gone through the Balintawak Cloverleaf underpass from the direction of Manila and was going up the flyover to Quirino Highway when it fell on its left side at about 6:25 a.m.

The fallen truck occupied two northbound lanes and slowed traffic along that section of the highway, the operator said.

MMDA and NLEX personnel were at the site to clear the road.

The MMDA said they were still investigating how the truck managed to fall over and were waiting for reports of possible injuries. /cbb
