Malabon gov’t offers P200K bounty for info on killing of barangay exec

MANILA, Philippines — The Malabon government will allocate P200,000 as a cash reward for any information that could lead to the arrest of suspects behind the killing of Barangay Kagawad Dante Sih.

“Ito po ay nagmumula sa hangad natin malaman ang katotohan sa likod ng lantaran at marahas na krimeng ito. Kaya’t nagpasya tayong maglaan ng pabuyang P200,000 para sa anumang impormasyong makakatulong sa pagtugis sa mga may sala,” Malabon Mayor Antolin “Len Len” Oreta III said in a statement on Wednesday.

Police said Sih, a village councilor in Barangay Panghulo in Malabon, was gunned down by unidentified assailants near a market in Malabon on Wednesday morning.

Oreta assured residents that the Malabon government will explore all means to seek justice for Sih.

“Makaasa po ang lahat na kumikilos na ang lokal na pamahalaan para mabigyan ng hustisya ang walang awang pagpaslang sa isa sa mga katuwang ko sa pangangalaga sa buong lungsod ng Malabon,” he said.(The local government will work to obtain justice for one of the public servants of Malabon.)

Oreta also expressed his condolences to the family, close friends, and other relatives of the slain village councilor.

“Nakikiisa po ako at ang buong Team Pamilyang Malabonian sa dalamhating nadarama ng pamilya, kamag-anak, kaibigan, at kasama ni Kagawad Dante Sih sa Brgy. Panghulo,” the Malabon mayor said.
