Duterte to commemorate Araw ng Kagitingan in Jolo, Sulu
MANILA, Philippines—President Rodrigo Duterte will skip the Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor) ceremony in Bataan on Tuesday and will instead lead its commemoration in Jolo, Sulu.
According to Malacañang, Duterte will lead the ceremony at Camp General Teodulfo Bautista Headquarters in Brgy. Busbus on Tuesday afternoon.
Last year, the President did not also attend the commemoration rites in Mount Samat in Bataan because he flew to China to attend a business forum.
In his official Araw ng Kagitingan message last year, Duterte urged Filipinos to protect the country’s independence and “resist” any attack on Philippine sovereignty.
