Manila Water Co. Inc. announced on Thursday that residents of 10 more barangays in Metro Manila and Rizal province would be entitled to a full waiver of their water bill this month.

It identified these barangays as Barangka Ilaya, Barangka Itaas, Mauway and Pleasant Hills in Mandaluyong City; Pineda and Ugong in Pasig City; Addition Hills and Santa Lucia in San Juan City; and Macamot and Tatala in Binangonan, Rizal province.

Earlier, Manila Water announced zero charges for April for their customers in the following areas: Barangays Addition Hills, Barangka Drive, Plainview, Highway Hills and Hulo in Mandaluyong City; Kapitolyo, Bagong Ilog and Oranbo in Pasig City; Upper Bicutan in Taguig City; and Mambog in Binangonan, Rizal province.

In an interview, Manila Water communications manager Dittie Galang said that there were some areas in 24 barangays where residents would be entitled to a full waiver.

Water supply update

“As of April 2, we have water availability at scheduled hours at ground-floor level in 98.9 percent of the east zone,” Galang added.

“For the remaining problematic areas, we continue to implement technical solutions such as installing booster pumps and laying pipes,” she said.

Reynaldo Velasco, Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System administrator, told reporters that the company had submitted to President Duterte its New Water Security Roadmap 2019-2022 for Metro Manila and adjacent provinces.
