1 killed, 3 arrested in Bicol anti-illegal drug operations

LEGAZPI CITY — An alleged drug pusher was killed while three others were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Daet, Camarines Norte, and  Baao and Pili towns in Camarines Sur on Wednesday.

In Daet, Socrates Consuelo alias Popoy, a government employee assigned at the Labo town Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO),  was killed after allegedly resisting arrest and firing at police operatives at around 12:30 a.m., a report from the police said.

Recovered from Consuelo were three sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth) worth P3,000, a 45-caliber pistol, and six bullets, according to police.

In Baao town, police armed with a search warrant arrested Joven Barayoga, 37, at his residence in Barangay Sagrada, and his companion Jose Asetrey at around 10:45 a.m.

Police said they confiscated from the suspects 14 sachets of shabu worth P50,000 and a 38-caliber handgun.

In Pili town, Marvin Marcial was collared for selling five sachets of shabu worth P5,000 at around 2:30 p.m. in Barangay San Antonio. Also recovered from him was a 38-caliber handgun, police added. /kga
