Fire bureau paramedic team help deliver twins to mother aboard banca in Calbayog

ORMOC CITY — Members of the paramedic team of the Bureau of Fire Protection in Calbayog City assisted a mother who delivered twin babies at the port of Calbayog City on Wednesday.

Calbayog City Fire Marshall Fire Inspector Walter Magbutay said they received a call that a mother aboard a motor banca was about to give birth.

He said the team immediately went to the area to help the mother identified as Noralyn Pabilion.

Magbutay said upon arrival at the port, the team learned that the first child, a boy, was already out of Pabilion’s womb, prompting one of the rescuers to clean the baby and cut its umbilical cord.

The second child was a girl.

The twins and their 25-year-old mother were brought to the Calbayog District Hospital for further medical care.
