MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday warned the public against using party drugs during summer time concerts and beach outings.

“Pinapahayag din natin ngayong summer kung magkakaroon man ng mga concert ay mahigpit nating pinapa-alalahanan ang lahat na umiwas po tayo sa mga ganitong gawain sa paggamit ng party drugs,” PNP spokesman Col. Bernard Banac said in a press briefing on the security plan of the police during summer.

(We are reminding and warning everyone to avoid taking party drugs.)

He said organizers of summer concerts may be held liable if concert goers are fond using party drugs during their events, citing similar incidents in the past.

“Titingnan natin ang kanilang magiging aksyon or participation at kung may ebidensya tayo na talagang magsasangkot sa kanila, kung nagkaroon sila ng kapabayaan, well isasama natin sila sa mga i-re-reklamo natin at sasampahan ng kaso,” Banac said.

(If it is established that they have a hand in the illegal activity, if they have been remiss, they will also be charged.)

Aside from concerts, Banac also reminded the public against using illegal drugs during parties in beach resorts.
