MANILA, Philippines — Former Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim, who is vying to return as the city’s top executive in the May 13 polls, appealed to his supporters to avoid gossip.
Speaking to his audience, mostly senior citizens, at a restaurant in Tondo where he kicked off his campaign on Friday, Lim said: “Huwag magagalit sa ‘kin ang mga kababaihan, pero kasama na rin ang mga kalalakihan. Iwasan na ninyo yung chismis.”
“‘Yung chismis, walang idudulot na mabuti ‘yan. Dahil ang lumalabas, naiinggit lang tayo,” he added.
He urged his supporters to maintain good relationships with their families as well as their neighbors.
Kahit kapitbahay,” Lim said.
“Dapat maganda ang samahan. Wala yung inggitan,” he added.
Lim also encouraged his supporters to ensure their children or grandchildren get good education so they could have a good future.
Janitor o ‘yung namamasahe sa kalsada?” he further said. /kga
