SAN PEDRO CITY – A drug suspect, who was also an alleged hired killer was killed in a drug buy bust operation in Pakil, Laguna Wednesday afternoon.
The slain suspect was identified as Leandro Pacheco.
Senior Supt. Eleazar Matta, Laguna police director, said Pacheco was previously arrested by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency agents for illegal use of drugs.
In a text message, Matta said the shootout happened around 5 p.m. in Barangay Burgos, after Pacheco fired at undercover police officers.
Police returned fire and hit the suspect, who succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
Recovered from the scene were a .45 caliber pistol, a sachet of suspected shabu (crystal meth), and P9,000 cash. /gsg
