Alleged drug pusher slain in Lucena drug sting
LUCENA CITY — Police killed an alleged drug pusher in a buy-bust operation here Tuesday night.
Supt. Reydante Ariza, Lucena police chief, said in a report that Domingo Azores, 48, sold P550 worth of shabu (crystal meth) to undercover police in Barangay Market View at 9:10 p.m.
But as the anti-illegal drugs operatives were about to make the arrest, Azores reportedly resisted, pulled a caliber .38 revolver from his back and shot the policemen.
An operative fired back and killed the suspect on the spot.
Authorities recovered the firearm allegedly used by Azores, including two grams of shabu worth P10,000 in the street market.
Police said the suspect was included in the drug watch list, who also often turned his house into a den for drug users and marijuana smokers./lzb
