MANILA, Philippines — The winner of GMA’s talent search “Starstruck” was arrested after his car reportedly hit two employees of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in Makati City and tried to escape authorities.

Makati City Police said 25-year-old Migo Adecer, whose full name is Douglas Errol Dreyfus Adecer, was arrested at 6 p.m. on Tuesday along J.P. Rizal St. corner Pertierra St. Barangay Poblacion in Makati City after a brief chase with pursuing policemen.

Adecer, who was driving a white Subaru BRZ, reportedly hit victims Rogelio Castillano and Michelle Gallova Papin, 34, both MMDA workers.

The MMDA employees were brought to Ospital ng Makati for medical treatment.

Police said the showbiz personality tried to escape but several lawmen chased him and was cornered along N. Garcia Street.

When police approached Adecer, who was believed to be drunk, he refused to surrender his driver’s license and instead drove his car, hitting the police patrol car in the process.

With the help of officers from Police Community Precinct-6 and Tactical Motorcycle Riding Unit, the suspect was successfully arrested and was brought to the Police Community Precinct-1 for documentation.

Adecer will face charges for reckless imprudence resulting in physical injuries, damage to properties and disobedience to a person in authority. /jpv
