LOOK: Robredo receives portrait painting from PNPA grad

MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo added a new painting to her collection as a Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) graduate gifted her with a portrait on Friday.

In a Twitter post, Robredo said Cadet 3CL Thomas Zen Cheung presented her the “gift” and thanked the PNPA Council of Artists for the “wonderful portrait.”

“Received another wonderful portrait from the PNPA Council of Artists at the sidelines of this morning’s graduation. Many thanks to Cadet 3CL Thomas Zen Cheung for this gift,” the vice president tweeted.

Robredo, together with President Rodrigo Duterte, graced the 40th commencement exercises of the Sansiklab Class 2019 of the PNPA at Camp General Mariano Castañeda in Silang, Cavite.

Two-hundred-one cadets of the class earned their degrees in Bachelor of Science in Public Safety.

In a separate tweet, Robredo said she was “honored” to award the Vice Presidential Kampilan to Insp. Merriefin Carisusa, the class salutatorian.

The vice president also said she was proud that six women, including Carisusa, made it to the Top 10 of the graduation class.

“Wishing our new police officers the best as they serve our people!” she said.

Last year, Robredo also received a portrait painting from the graduates of the Maragtas Class of 2018 of the PNPA.

“Was gifted with this beautiful painting by the PNPA Council of Artists. In the pictures with me is the artist behind this masterpiece, Cadet 4CL Don Carlo Labastida of Davao City,” she said. /cbb
