Former Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) senior vice president Edward King has sought the permission of the Sandiganbayan Third Division to travel to the United States to take care of his sick mother.

In a two-page urgent motion to travel, King said he wanted to travel to San Jose, California for 30 days to visit and take care of his ailing mother.

King was coaccused in the graft case against former Pagcor Chair Efraim Genuino.

Their case stemmed from the alleged misappropriation of P37 million in government funds meant for the training of swimmers who competed in the 2012 Olympics.

In his motion, King quoted a letter from the medical social worker taking care of his mother.

“Please allow this family member to visit immediately to be with our patient during this critical time,” said medical social worker Jennifer Toledo in a letter seeking a visa for King.
