Poe: People will eventually decide who they’ll elect as senators
LUCENA CITY – Reelectionist Senator Grace Poe shrugged off President Duterte’s opinion on the performance of every senator.
“There is a difference in individual opinions. Either pro-administration or opposition bets. But who has the final judgment? It is the people who will eventually decide and pick (their
candidates),” Poe told the Inquirer in a solicited reaction during her solo campaign sorties here Thursday.
In a mixed jest and seriousness, Poe appealed to the voters to give
party-less and women candidates a chance in the coming election
apparently referring to herself.

women because there are more men than women in the Senate),” she said.
Poe made the reaction after President Duterte said “a lot” of incumbent senators did not deserve their seats in the Senate.
“In the Senate, there are a lot of those who should not be there,” Duterte said during the campaign rally of the ruling PDP-Laban party in Marikina on Thursday.
The President then called out a “sarcastic” female senator whom, he
said, had no brains and did nothing in the upper chamber. He did not
identify the said senator./lzb
