WOMAN FOUND DEAD
A 19-YEAR-OLD woman was found hanging dead inside her house in barangay Atabay, Alcoy town, southern Cebu.
Airee Amigo was found last Saturday afternoon by her uncle suspended from a wall with a nylon rope tied around her neck.
Mark Anthony Nefil, the woman’s live-in partner, told police that Amigo may have felt bad that he went home late last Friday.
Nefil said he tended to their goats before having a drinking session with friends last Friday.
Dr. Max Cangat, municipal health officer of Alcoy, said in his medical report that the woman died of asphyxiation.
Relatives decided not to have the body autopsied, said police.

TWO ARMED MEN COLLARED
POLICE arrested two men who were allegedly caught carrying firearms in barangay Dumlog, Talisay City, southern Cebu.
Police said Tory Cabranilla, 50, and Albert Quijano, 41, both carried .45 pistols when they were arrested past 11 p.m. last Saturday.
Police said they rushed to Dumlog after residents complained that bursts of gunfire were near the seashore.
Cabranilla and Quijano were having a drinking session when police arrived.
Police said the two men ran after seeing the policemen. A brief chase ensued before the two men were cornered.
Police said the two men failed to present a license for the guns.
