MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.8 earthquake rocked Occidental Mindoro on Saturday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
In its earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs said the earthquake hit 17 kilometers northwest of Abra De Ilog, Occidental Mindoro at 5:58 p.m.
Phivolcs said the quake was felt at various intensities in the following areas;
- Intensity III – Calatagan, Batangas
- Intensity II – Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, Tagaytay City
- Intensity I – Dolores and Mulanay in Quezon, Olongapo City
The earthquake of tectonic origin had a depth of 108 km.
Phivolcs also assured that no aftershocks or damage will be expected from the earthquake. /atm
