Taxi catches fire along Edsa in Quezon City; driver safe

MANILA, Philippines — A taxi caught fire along Edsa in Quezon City on Friday afternoon, fire authorities said.

Senior Fire Officer III Rommel Perez, of the Agham Fire Station, said the incident happened northbound of Edsa near Balintawak.


The blaze, which started 4:40 p.m., was put out in a few minutes, according to firemen.

Authorities have yet to release the name of the taxi company as well as the identity of the taxi driver, as of posting, but Perez said the taxi driver is safe.


Perez also said investigators are still determining the cause of the fire. /kga
