LUCENA CITY, Philippines – An alleged drug pusher was killed in a firefight with police during a buy-bust operation Wednesday, police said.

Superintendent Reydante Ariza, Lucena police chief, said Marvin Meude, 38, was slain after he reportedly resisted arrest and shot at policemen with a caliber .38 revolver. He missed and was killed on the spot by lawmen.

Before the alleged shootout, Meude sold one gram of “shabu” to a police agent in Barangay (village) Cotta at about 3 p.m.

Police said the slain suspect was on the list of local drug personalities.

Records showed that Meude was the sixth alleged drug pusher slain in this city since March 4.

Police reports showed that the suspects resisted arrest and engaged policemen in shootouts, popularly termed “nanlaban.” /cbb
