Plane from Taiwan stalls at end of Kalibo airport runway
MANILA, Philippines — An airplane that flew in from Taipei in Taiwan stalled at the grassy end of a runway in Kalibo International Airport in Kalibo, Aklan on Wednesday night, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) said.
In a statement, Eric Apolonio, CAAP spokesperson, said the airport suspended its operations after the plane stalled at 6:04 p.m.
Apolonio said the plane “overextended to the grassy area” while doing a 180-degree turn. It was towed to the remote parking bay.
The plane, operated by Far Eastern Air flight FE321, was carrying 122 passengers, all of whom were unharmed.
Airport operations returned to normal at 7:34 p.m. /atm
