Suspect in hacking of woman in Aklan arrested

MANILA, Philippines — A 27-year-old man was arrested as a suspect in the killing of the woman whose hacked body was spotted at a creek in Malinao, Aklan.

The Malinao Municipal Police Station identified the suspect as Mar Jun Victoriano and the victim as Irene Victoriano, 41.

On March 11, 2019, Recto Nobleza told police that he heard the suspect and the woman engaged in a heated argument.

Police then received information from the suspect’s father that he was staying in Barangay Agbanawan in Banga, Aklan.

The suspect was arrested by Malinao police officers at 3:45 p.m. and detained at the station. /atm
