MANILA, Philippines — The expected closure of Estrella Service Road will affect an estimated 500 motorists per hour, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said on Tuesday.

“Ang dumadaan diyan mostly sa street na ‘yan ay 500 per hour […] yung palabas lang ang may problema,” MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia said in a press briefing at the MMDA Office in Makati City.

Earlier, Garcia said the partial closure of Estrella Service Road is set on March 23 (Saturday) at 11 p.m.

Garcia said motorists using Makati Avenue for their “shortcuts” to cross J.P. Rizal will also be affected by the closure.

“Ang talagang maaapektuhan diyan, yung mga palabas ng J.P. Rizal at nga shumo-shortcut ng galing Makati Avenue going to J.P. Rizal maapektuhan niyan,” he said.

Motorists may take alternate routes in Gumamela, Progreso, and Camia streets. /je
