For refusing to debate her, Sara Duterte calls Otso Diretso bets cowards

MANILA, Philippines — Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio branded the Senate bets of the opposition Otso Diretso party as cowards for refusing to debate her as she is not a candidate in the may midterm elections.

In an Instagram post on Friday, Duterte-Carpio shared INQUIRER.net’s story titled, “Opposition on Sara’s 1 vs 8 debate dare: She’s not the candidate.”

“This is the hallmark of your group, dark, depressing, sad, very recently, dishonest. And now, cowards soon to be L ,” Duterte-Carpio wrote on her caption.

On Friday, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) junked Otso Diretso’s plea to arrange a debate with the  senatorial bets of the pro-administration Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) party.

With this, Duterte-Carpio, who is the HNP campaign manager,  dared the Otso Diretso bets to debate her instead.

“Kami na lang, Inday Sara vs 8,” the presidential daughter said.
