Mayor Abby Binay honors new Makati centenarian

MANILA, Philippines — The Makati City government has recognized Mrs. Esperanza Jacinto of Barangay Bangkal as one of the three new centenarians of the city.

Born on December 29, 1918, Mrs. Jacinto has been a Blu Card member since August 7, 2002. Aside from the P100,00 check from the city government, Mayor Binay also gave Mrs. Jacinto a bouquet of flowers and a plaque of recognition during a visit to her house Wednesday.


The two other new centenarians recognized by the city government are Mr. Eugenio Palileo of Barangay Magallanes, who was born on December 14, 1918; and Mr. Braulio Sison of Barangay  Dasmariñas, who was born on December 8, 1918.

To date, 54 centenarians have been awarded the P100,000 cash gift since 2012 following the passage of City Ordinance No. 2012-099.  /muf
