MANILA, Philippines (Updated) — Social Security System (SSS) President and Chief Executive Officer (PCEO) Emmanuel Dooc has resigned from his post.
In a text message to INQUIRER.net on Wednesday, Dooc said he submitted his resignation letter to President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday “upon the effectivity of the [n]ew SSS [c]harter” as it “automatically ended” his term.
“I wanted to give Pres[ident] Duterte the opportunity to appoint my successor as the PCEO under the New SSS Law,” he added.
When asked if he knew who his successor would be, he said, “I have no idea. Let’s leave that to the President.”
In a report by Radyo Inquirer, Dooc said that he filed his irrevocable resignation letter to the President since his appointment was based on the old Social Security law. With a report from Chona Yu, Radyo INQUIRER /je
