MANILA, Philippines — Twenty-eight out of the 75 big-ticket projects under the government’s massive “Build, Build, Build” (BBB) program are scheduled to be completed by 2022, the state planning agency National Economic Development Authority (Neda) said Tuesday.

“The agencies have committed to the administration that the 28 (projects) will be completed, this is about P319 billion out of the P2.17 trillion (budget for BBB),” Assistant Secretary Jonathan Uy said during a Senate hearing on the BBB program.
Uy noted that the projects for completion by 2022 was previously numbered at 31, however, three projects are now being subjected under further review.
“Bumaba (‘yung number) kasi there are three projects that are now coming back for further review. One is the Mindanao Rail project because of alignment and some technical considerations,” Uy said.
The Neda assistant secretary said that implementing agencies have identified 47 out of the 75 flagship programs will be finished beyond 2022.
He also noted that 46 projects out of the 75 are now under various stages of implementation; 16 are in the process of budgeting, appropriation process; 19 are under detailed engineering and procurement; and 11 are in construction. /jpv
