LUCENA CITY, Philippines – A former drug convict was killed by a lone gunman in Candelaria, Quezon Tuesday morning, police said.
Rodel Comia, 41, was walking in Barangay Mangilag Sur at around 6:20 a.m. when the gunman emerged and repeatedly shot him in different parts of the body, Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said.
Comia died on the spot.
Police said the victim was arrested last April for a drug pushing case and was sent to jail.
He was released on Dec. 20, 2018 following a plea bargaining agreement with the court. / gsg
