President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed a retired police official and a former transportation official to new positions in his administration.

The President appointed retired Brig. Gen. Manuel Gaerlan, former chief of the Davao Police Regional Office, as a board member of the Clark Development Corp. (CDC), which administers, manages, and develops the Clark Economic Zone.

Gaerlan will serve from July 1, 2018, to June 30, 2019.

The President also appointed former Transportation Assistant Secretary Dante Lantin as a member of the Philippine Racing Commission.

Lantin, who served under the administration of President Benigno Aquino III, will serve a four-year term.

The President signed the appointments of both officials last Feb. 28, copies of which were released to the media on Monday. /atm
