Man killed by 4 unidentified gunmen in Batangas

MANILA, Philippines — A man was shot dead by four unidentified assailants in Mabini, Batangas province on Monday morning, the police reported.

The Mabini Municipal Police identified the victim as Marlon Datinguinoo, 37, a resident of the said place.

The incident occurred at 11:10 a.m. at Brgy. San Francisco, Mabini, Batangas, police said.

Initial investigation revealed that Datinguinoo was driving along the national road of Brgy. San Francisco, Mabini, Batangas, when four armed suspects aboard two motorcycles blocked his way.

When the Datinguinoo stopped, the four suspects forcibly opened his car door and shot him several times on different parts of his body. The suspects then fled to the direction of Bauang, Batangas after the shooting, police said.

Datinguinoo sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead on arrival at the Zizag Hospital.

The police said they are still conducting follow-up operation for the identification and possible arrest of the shooters.

“Oplan: Iron Curtain” was activated in the whole of Batangas province and the police has requested the assistance of the scene of the crime operatives (Soco). /je
