Gunman kills elderly couple in Apayao

BAGUIO CITY — An elderly couple was killed by an unidentified gunman in Conner, Apayao on Thursday evening, police said.

Menandro Kaclay, 75, and his wife Leticia were shot dead inside their house in Barangay Talifugo at 11:20 p.m.

Investigators said the assailant attacked Menandro first before shooting Leticia who rushed from a neighbor’s house after hearing the gunshots.

Police recovered 10 fired cartridge cases and two live ammunition of M16 rifle from the crime scene.
