A report from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) identified the suspects as Chenchen Li, Yu Hong, Huimin Li, Jian Cai, Lei Chijin, Yaowli Xiong, Lin Yufei and Peng Cun.

The eight Chinese nationals were arrested at around 1:45 a.m. following the implementation of a search warrant by the Makati City Regional Trial Court Branch 36.

According to NCRPO chief Guillermo Eleazar, the arrested Chinese nationals did not have work visas.

“They don’t have work visas so that would be a basis for the Bureau of Immigration para i-consider sila as violators ng ating immigration (law),” Eleazar said.

Eleazar said the arrested suspects will be facing charges for violation of Section 6 (Committing crimes through communication technology) of R.A. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, and P.D. 1602 or the Stiffer Penalties on Illegal Gambling. /muf
