4.0-magnitude earthquake rocks Davao Occidental
MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.0 earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Thursday afternoon, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its initial earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs said the temblor hit 90 kilometers (km) southeast of Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental, around 1:16 p.m.
The quake, which was of tectonic origin, had a depth of 52 km, and may not cause aftershocks, Phivolcs said. /kga
