6 nabbed in QC drug sting

MANILA, Philippines – A father and his son, along with four others, including a criminology student were arrested during a drug buy – bust operation before dawn Sunday in Quezon City.

The Quezon City Police District identified the arrested suspects as Romel Lavadia, 46; his son Romel John Lavadia, 21; criminology student Gian Christopher Nortega, 20; Karl Memita, 20; Jheo Mark Paul Datan, 21 and Jello Valenzuela, 20, all from Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City.

Police said that the six were apprehended during a buy bust operation at around 2 a.m. on Sunday when an undercover police officer bought P100 worth of marijuana from the younger Lavadia.

This led to his arrest along with his cohorts, who were in the area during the operation.

Authorities recovered three sachets of marijuana, several drug-using paraphernalia, and marked money from the suspects./gsg
