LEGAZPI CITY — An alleged illegal drug pusher was killed in a shootout on Sunday afternoon with police at a drug buy-bust operation in Polangui town in Albay province, a police report said Monday.

Suspect David Noble Jr., of Barangay (village) Basud, was selling suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) to an undercover police agent in Barangay Napo at around 4 p.m., Chief Insp. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said.

Calubaquib said Noble resisted arrest and pulled out his .38 caliber pistol, firing at the police raiding team. The police retaliated and killed him.

Recovered from the crime scene were Noble’s gun and two sachets of shabu. /je
