Security guard accidentally kills fellow watchman in Quezon

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – A security guard accidentally killed a colleague with his service firearm in Mauban town in Quezon province Saturday, police said.
A police report said Francis Obal, 21, was fixing his shotgun inside the guard house when he unintentionally pulled the trigger and hit Jerome Arquilla, 21, who was standing outside.
The incident happened inside the compound of Global DHI Philippines Incorporated in Barangay (village) Cagsiay 2 at about 12:50 p.m.
Arquilla sustained a bullet wound in the left lower abdomen and died on the way to the Mauban District Hospital.
Obal was arrested and detained at the town police jail. /cbb
