2 suspected motorbike thieves killed in QC shootout

MANILA, Philippines — Two suspected motorcycle thieves were killed in a shootout with the police in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City on Friday.

Police said they received a call from a concerned citizen that four suspicious men have entered a vacant lot and have appeared to be disassembling parked motorcycles.

Police officers then arrived at the scene but the suspects suddenly opened fire, triggering a shootout.

The two unidentified suspects were killed on the spot while their two cohorts managed to escape aboard a motorcycle.

Recovered at the crime scene were two caliber .38 revolvers loaded with bullets, two coin purses, P60 cash, eight sachets of suspected shabu, a Suzuki Skydrive motorcycle and a Honda Beat motorcycle.

Meanwhile, a hunt against the escaped suspects was started by police.  /muf
