BALIWAG, BULACAN — Police seized more than P25 million worth of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) from two women during a buy-bust operation here on Thursday.

Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, director of Bulacan police, said they arrested Cristina Joan Webb Trinidad, 39, of San Rafael town and Ruth Francisco, 34 of Marilao town, inside their rented apartment.

Police raided the suspects’ house at 3:50 a.m. and recovered 3.7 kilograms of shabu worth P25,744,800.

Also seized from the two were cellphones, a weighing scale, drug paraphernalia, and the marked money.

Bersaluna said the police were tipped off about the suspects’ illegal drugs transaction.

The two women were not included in the police’s drugs watch list and could be new but high-profile players in drug trafficking, Bersaluna said./lzb
