Duterte ‘most likely’ to skip Edsa People Power Revolution events — Palace
MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte may not attend any event related with the 33rd anniversary of the Edsa People Power Revolution to be held on Feb. 25, Malacañang said Wednesday.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said there is no word yet if the President will attend but added that the Chief Executive will “most likely” not be attending.
“Wala, wala pang nababanggit,” Panelo said in a press briefing when asked if the President will attend an Edsa People Power event.
“Pero um-attend ba sya noon? Last time, wala naman siya. Two years nang wala so most likely hindi rin aattend,” Panelo said.
Panelo explained that the President has a lot of work to do and he would rather spend his time “enhancing his intellect.”
“Madami nang trabaho si Presidente eh. He’d rather spend his time reading documents concerning the government, reading books, enhance his intellect some more,” Panelo said. /muf
