Suspect shot dead while trying to flee from cops in Batangas

SAN PEDRO CITY – A drug suspect was killed when he tried to escape from policemen in Lian town, Batangas province late Tuesday evening.

Police identified the suspect as Arvin Abellera.

Abellera was the target of the buy-bust operation in Barangay Malaruhatan around 10 p.m., police said.

But Abellera reportedly realized he was dealing with the police and started to run away by firing his gun. The police were forced to shoot him down.

The suspect was brought to the Apacible Memorial Hospital in Nasugbu town but later died due to multiple bullet wounds.
