WATCH: Thick, black smoke rises as fire engulfs auto service shop

MANILA, Philippines – Fire immediately engulfed an auto service shop in Mandaluyong City on Monday morning, diffusing thick, black smoke on the horizon.

A video taken by Kiel Enrique shows the conflagration eating up Autoplus Car Center located on the southbound lane of EDSA near Connecticut Street around 11:14 a.m.

Enrique said in a Facebook post that he was supposed to bring his car for maintenance in the adjacent car service center but saw the massive black smoke in the area.

“I don’t know how to proceed now,” he said in his Facebook live.

Towards the end of the video, a loud bang was heard most likely coming from the burning auto service establishment.

The blaze at Autoplus Car Center reached second alarm by 11:30 a.m. Firemen were able to stop the inferno around 12:38 p.m., or more than an hour after it started.
