Marcos supporters await Hugpong bets in Ilocos Norte

BATAC CITY – Marcos supporters on Monday gathered at the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center here as they waited for the arrival of Senator JV Ejercito, who is seeking reelection under the regional party Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP).

Ejercito is expected to join other HNP senatorial candidates in a rally in nearby Laoag City.

Among those who patiently waited for the senator’s arrival here was Marou Alamag, 38, whose 5-year-old youngest child is currently being treated at the hospital due to snake bite. She said her family is an avid supporter of the Ejercitos and Marcoses because of their healthcare programs.

Ejercito told residents and hospital staff that the government hospital will get more beds this year. He assured that medical equipment upgrade will follow.

“Though its political season already, we should still be working so I make it a point to maximize time and attend to other functions,” Ejercito said.
