3 dead in Pangasinan road accidents
DAGUPAN CITY — Three people were killed on Friday night and early Saturday morning after they were crushed by passenger buses in two separate road accidents in Pangasinan province, police said.
Eddie Laron, a laborer, was hit by a northbound passenger bus traversing the Manila North Road at Barangay Asan Sur in Sison town about 2 a.m. on Saturday.
He was taken to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Bus driver Eduardo Pipo Jr. faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
In San Fabian town, Eduardo Pedeglorio, 55, and his wife Cecila Pedeglorio, 51, died after they were run over by a passenger bus traversing the Pangasinan-La Union Road in Barangay Tempra Guilig about 6 p.m. on Friday.
The couple was only about a kilometer away from their house at Barangay Sagud Bahley when their motorcycle crashed into a tricycle loading a passenger on the western side of the road.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Pedeglorios were thrown off their motorcycle and were crushed by a passenger bus following them, said SPO1 Alexander Supsupin, San Fabian police investigator.
Supsupin said Eduardo, who was driving the motorcycle, was killed instantly, while his wife died while she was being taken to a hospital in Dagupan City. Gabriel Cardinoza/lzb
