MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (Comelec)’s list of senatorial candidates with illegal posters was “absurd and malicious,” according to former Consultative Committee spokesman and Senate candidate Ding Generoso.
“This is absurd and malicious and could be part of attempts to eliminate our candidates for reasons known only to the Comelec,” Generoso said in a statement on Friday.
Generoso issued the statement came after Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon released the names of more than a dozen of senatorial bets who still have illegal posters as of Thursday, Feb. 14.

Generoso also noted that his party has yet to put up posters as their campaign materials are still being printed.
“Truth is we have not put up any poster because our materials are still to be printed. So we don’t know what posters Comelec is talking about,” he said.
Generoso is running under the Katipunan ng Kamalayang Kayumanggi party.
Generso also rued that from the original 34 candidates, six from his party were added by Comelec.
Generoso asserted that Comelec revealed the names on the list after his party challenged the poll body.
“Maybe it’s because early this morning, we posted on our Facebook page a challenge to name everyone on the list so the voters will know who violating the rules,” he said. /gsg
