Suspected drug pusher shot dead in Laguna buy-bust
SAN PEDRO CITY, Philippines — A suspected drug pusher was killed in a shootout with police during a buy-bust in Lumban town in Laguna province on Friday.
In a text message, Laguna police director Sr. Supt. Eleazar Matta said suspect Jon Jon Elca, a resident of Sta. Cruz town, drew out a .38 caliber revolver and opened fire when he sensed that he was dealing with an undercover police officer during the bust along Lagumbay road in Barangay (village) Lewin at around 1 a.m.
Police said Elca died after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds during the shootout.
Recovered from Elca was a sachet of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) worth about P500, police said. /muf
