Maguindanao blast injures militiaman
CAMP SIONGCO, MAGUINDANAO – A militiaman conducting foot patrol was injured when an anti-personnel mine exploded Tuesday morning in Guindulungan, Maguindanao.
Major Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of the 6th Infantry Division, in a statement, condemned the attempt by lawless elements to inflict injuries on government forces.
The 7:30 a.m. blast was in Sitio Pansol, Barangay Macasampen, Guindulungan.
Sobejana did not name the militiaman who belonged to the Delta Company, 38th Infantry Battalion.
The bomb was placed near an old “nipa” hut just 50 meters away from the national highway.
Members of the 90th Infantry Battalion and Guindulungan Municipal Police immediately responded and conducted further security for possible attacks.
Article continues after this advertisement“The explosion was meant to inflict harm to our troops just [when] they were passing to conduct their regular security in the area,” Sobejana said.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack but Guindulungan is among the areas where the Islamic State-linked Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters are operating./lzb
